As Flood Coordinator, he worked with Town, County,
State, and Federal officials to help the residents affected by the recent flooding
and to secure funding for our damaged infrastructure.
Jim is a life long resident of the Town of Ulster. He currently lives in the home
where he grew up, now with his wife, Brenda. Jim has been the Assessor for the Town of
Ulster since 1997, and previously worked as a real estate appraiser for many years.
A man who tackles problems and finds solutions, Jim was committed to serving the
District #5 residents during his previous term as Legislator.

During his term in the Legislature, Jim:
- Sponsored the Flood Assessment Relief Act of 2005, signed into law by former Governor Pataki
- Sponsored the resolution to help STOP the Eddyville Mine
- Sponsored the Ulster County resolution that finalized the agreement and allowed for the
creation of the East Kingston Water District
- Sponsored the resolution to give our Seniors and Veterans the maximum tax exemption benefit allowed by N.Y.S. law
- Wrote and sponsored the only resolution to obtain more sales tax revenue for the Town of Ulster
Jim understands government finance and tax structure!
As Town Assessor, he has twice challenged N.Y.S. values
and saved residents hundreds of thousands of tax dollars.
