Joe Roberti is seeking his 7th term in the Ulster County
Legislature. He is a lifelong Saugerties resident and
earned a business degree from the College of St. Rose.
Joe is the former Chairman of the Health Committee, which
oversees the Public Health Department and Golden Hill
Health Care Center. Joe was a strong supporter of Clean
Indoor Air Legislation and developed the first county
programs to educate children about the dangers of smoking.
He also created UlsterRx, the county's discount
prescription drug program.
Joe voted to eliminate the tax on home energy products. He
also voted against the numerous tax increases proposed by the
Democratic Majority in the Legislature. Joe was a leader
in calling for the county to take action to crack down on
Medicaid Fraud.
Joe is Deputy Chairman of the Economic Development
Committee. He was a strong voice in calling for an
overhaul of the county's economic development system.
In the future, Joe pledges to oppose out of control
Democratic taxing and spending, continue the reform of
economic development agencies and to implement an
accountability program to evaluate the effectiveness of
county government.
Joe is also very active in the community. He was a co-founder
and former President of the Friends of the
Saugerties Library. He is a member of the Board of
Directors for the Esopus Creek Conservancy and a member of
the Saugerties Lions Club and the Saugerties Historical
Society. Joe also volunteers his time to serve as a youth
baseball and football coach. He resides with his family on
15 Ebel Court, Saugerties.
